Time to deface some books, folks!
*Rubs hands in anticipation*
I haven’t had access to my darling books all summer, but now I’m back home and therefore also back to business. :)
This time, I decided to go to town on all three books in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard trilogy by Rick Riordan. It’s one of my absolute favourite series, and I’ve been meaning to personalise my copies in some way for ages.
I had a couple different ideas for what I wanted to do, some more complicated than others, but in the end I decided to go with a quite simple motive on top of a kind of space-y background, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. :)
For this little project, I mainly used acrylic paint, a sponge, and a silver coloured gel pen.
But without further ado, here’s the result:
And that’s it!
I had a really good, though admittedly sometimes frustrating (trees are the bane of my existence), time painting these, and I’ve really missed doing art stuff this summer. Hopefully I’ll have time for things like these during this school year (though I’m not feeling optimistic).
I hope you enjoyed this, and as always, I encourage you to try defacing your own books in some way, whether it be paint, text, or something entirely different. It’s so much fun, and so far I haven’t regretted a single one of my projects. :)
Do it!
these covers are stunning! I adore them
Thank you! ☺️
These are gorgeous!!! I honestly have NO CLUE how you do it😅😂
Thank you, I’m glad you like them 😊 and it’s basically just a lot of paint, patience, and a good playlist 😉
Those are amazing. How long does it usually take for you to do this?
I’m glad you like them 😊 it can differ a bit, but perhaps around 3-5 hours? I usually lose track of time, though, so I’m not sure
Beautiful.💙
