Book Haul: January-February

bookhaul2017

Okay, so I went on a bit of a (for me at least) buying spree these past two months, and got six new books, none of which I had already read!

Inconceivable. Shocking. Unbelievable.

Okay, so maybe not quite that outlandish, but uncharacteristic for me. :)

But enough about that, let’s take a look, shall we? :)

First of all, I got the Six of Crows box set containing, of course, Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo.

I read these immediately after I got them, and man are they as good as they are pretty. Highly recommend!

Then, I got Scythe by Neal Shusterman.

I’d only read the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman previous to this, but I live for that series, this sounded interesting, and the cover is gorgeous, so I decided to buy it.

If you read my wrap up for February, you already know that I loved it, but in case you didn’t, I’ll say it again: I loved it. :)

Nowhere Near You, the sequel to Because You’ll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas, was released in February, so naturally, I had to get my hands on that, too.

I was kind of hesitant, though, because well, I’m always a bit apprehensive about sequels, especially when the first book could have easily been a standalone, but has it turns out, I had no reason to worry. It was so, so good, and now I’m just waiting for the news of a third book. Please make a third book.

And yes, I’m one of many people who got A Conjuring of Light by V. E. Schwab last month. I have actually not picked it up yet, and since I have a huuuge test coming up, I probably won’t for at least two or more weeks, but I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve so far heard nothing but great things. :)

Lastly (at least bookwise), I got Caraval by Stephanie Garber. This was actually a bit of an impulse buy for me. Though I was going to read it, I wasn’t really planning on getting a physical copy since people have been saying mixed things and I’ve never read anything by the author before. When I heard about the UK edition, though, I couldn’t resist.

Yeah, I know.

In case you didn’t know, the UK edition of this book has four different designs under the dust jacket, and you don’t know which one you’ll get until, well, you have it in your hands. In case you couldn’t tell, I’m a sucker for that sort of thing.

As you can see, I got the dress, which wasn’t exactly the one I wanted, but it’s still super pretty and I love it.

Hopefully I’ll enjoy the book, too..heh.

And here they all are! Aren’t they just beautiful….sigh.

But wait, there’s more…

Friend, do you ever lie in your bed at like 3 am, ordering stuff you didn’t know you needed (and actually indeed don’t) on your phone? Well, I do, and this is the result of one such occasion.

Not saying these adorable Raven Cycle bookmarks from the etsy store HappyHelloCo aren’t amazing, because they are….I just never use bookmarks. I’m more of a “oh I’ll just use this scrap of paper”-kind of gal.

Why am I like this?

(Look how cute they are, though)

(I’ll probably get more at some point)

And on that note, I think it’s time to say goodbye and go study the pathologic changes of the heart. Have a nice weekend!
