Book Haul: July

It’s safe to say that my summer plans for this blog (that is, get back on track when it comes to reviews), failed miserably.

Yeah, work, reading and laziness kind of got in the way (as it usually does) :/.

But on a much happier note…..I have bought books this month! :D

Let’s take a look, shall we :).

Yes! With the very (extremely, highly, seriously I have waited for this book for two years) anticipated release date of Isla and the Happily Ever After coming up (less than 20 days, guys!!), I have finally decided to get my very own copies of Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins :D. These are two of my favourite contemporaries ever, and if you haven’t read them yet, you should. :)

AND, the third and final book I purchased this month, is this beauty! Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater, the standalone spin-off to her The Wolves of Mercy Falls-series. Cole and Isabel, man, those two…..:).

But wait just one second Beatrice, that is not the cover for Sinner.

You are correct, strange disembodied voice….but at the same time not.

Yeah, sure, it’s not the official cover, but Maggie, talented as she is, read my mind (not a fan of the real cover), and decided to make her own. :) So, if you pre-ordered from Fountain Bookstore, or went to one of her events, you got this gorgeous thing as well. :D Since I’m in Sweden, unable to travel to the US for a book (even though it’s a special one), I did the first of those two, and voilà, here it is. :)

Another perk of paying the extra $25 in shipping? It’s signed! :D

Yay!

I just have a small complaint….the book wasn’t shipped until 17/7 (it was released the 1st of July), and didn’t get to me until 24/7. I know and understand that there’s a lot to keep track on during these kinds of occasions, especially for an independent bookstore, and to their credit they fixed it as soon as I sent a worried email, but it’s still disappointing. I pre-ordered it for a reason, after all. I still very much recommend you to check them out, though (great way to buy signed books by Maggie Stiefvater, with nice and helpful people), and I will most likely pre-order Blue Lily, Lily Blue from them myself (Maggie’s going to doodle in the pre-orders again).

But anyway, that was all for this time. Hopefully there won’t be weeks until you hear from me again. :)

Bye :)

Did you get anything interesting in July? Tell me down in the comments. :)

  1. Anna and the French Kiss is amazing! I’m yet to read Lola and the Boy Next Door but I hope you enjoy! I just got Holly Bourne’s Manifesto on How to be Interesting which I’m really excited to read!

    • I actually already read them both back in 2012, but I did enjoy them very much :D. I hope you’ll like lola :).
I haven’t heard about that book but it seems interesting :)
