New Year’s Resolution: Book Edition

Hello there!

So yeah, the new year is upon us, full of many new releases and reading experiences. :D I mean, we have CressIgnite Me, Isla and the Happily Ever After, and The Blood of Olympus, to only mention a few.

But then we have those other books. You know, the books that we, month after month, year after year, think about reading. They have many names — embarrassments I think the most frequently used — but we all have them.

So now, once and for all, I thought I would make these books my new years resolution of 2014 (god, that feels weird to say). Whatever the cost, when the year is over, I will have read these books…

1. The Lord of the Rings

I have meant to pick these up for as long as I can remember, but never have, and they’re probably my greatest embarrassments as a reader. Come on, everybody needs to read Lord of the Rings. I promise the holy god of new years resolutions to read at least one of them!

2. A Game of Thrones

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

All year I have wanted to read this book. I even borrowed it from the library (twice), but ended up returning it again completely unread. I admit the size intimidates me, but it’s no excuse. I now vow to finnish this monster in 2014!

3. A Study in Scarlet

The Complete Sherlock Holmes

As you may know, I got this lovely book a few months ago, but have yet to start it. Yes, I have read some Sherlock Holmes, but next year I want to start reading t from the very beginning, that is, A Study in Scarlet.

Okay, I know this doesn’t seem like much, but despite what I said earlier, I don’t think I will finnish all of these (I’m not very good at sticking wit new years resolutions). I will seriously be happy if I read at least one. :) If I’m lucky, the competitive side of me will see this statement as a challenge and decide to prove myself wrong, though. Who knows. ;)

Anyway, I want to wish you a happy new year, and I’ll see you later. :)

Do you have any books you want/need to read in 2014? Tell me down in the comments. :)
