My Thoughts on: Warm Bodies…the Movie

Hello :)

So, today I went to the cinema and watched Warm Bodies with a friend. :) I have wanted to see it for such a long time, so I was really excited :D.

If you don’t know, Warm Bodies is based on a novel written by Isaac Marion. If you have been following this blog, you might have read here, that I predicted that even though I really liked the book, I would enjoy the movie more. As it happens, I actually did :).

Don’t get me wrong, the book was super great…but there was just something about the movie that left a bigger impression on me. Unusual, I know.

I think the awesome lines combined with Nicholas Hoult’s amazing face-expressions was pure magic, and I laughed several times along with the rest of the audience. I mean, look at this ↓

I think they did a very neat job putting it all together, and they didn’t change that much except for some details, R’s age and the ending. This is why I think it’s better to make movies out of shorter books. Warm Bodies didn’t leave out any super important stuff, took its time with the character developement, and did it all in about an hour and a half. Bravo!

When it comes to the ending, I don’t really remember what happened in the book. It’s kind of fuzzy, but I know I wasn’t that impressed. Therefore, it didn’t bother me that they changed it in the movie, but I think it ended just a little bit too happy, if you know what I mean.

By the way, is it weird that I could relate to R more than I relate to most characters I read about?

This is basically how my friends and I communicate sometimes. Not even kidding.

Overall, I really liked this movie. It was hilarious and still had a couple of moments when I winced in my chair (my friend actually screamed once ;)). If you haven’t seen the trailer, klick the picture below, watch it and then go see the movie at the cinema :). It’s totally worth it ;).
