Day 12 – A Book You Used to Love But Don’t Anymore

Okay.

You ready?

A book I used to love but don’t anymore is…..

Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer

Twilight (Twilight, #1)

Let me tell you a little story. Just so you know, it’s about me.

Once upon a time when I was about 12, a vampire-movie called Twilight came out. One second I thought it looked interesting and the next, almost every, single girl in my school was holding a copy of the book in their hands.

It took some time for my copies to arrive, since all the book-stores were out of them, but when they finally came, I finished all four of them in under a week.

All my friends and I did, was read. We read walking to school, we read at class, we read at the breaks. When we finished reading, we re-read them, time after time. When we didn’t read, we talked about the books and the movie. You see what I mean?

Twilight was everywhere and it was something that brought me and all the other girls together. It was fun to say the least.

Then I turned 13. It would be a lie if I told you I had lost interest by then, but the connection our old group had shared, faded. We still went to see New Moon, very excited. About this time, I realized that I actually didn’t like the movies very much. They felt forced, too fast and the acting kind of sucked (sorry).

I was still excited when Eclipse came, but not as much. I hadn’t read the books for a long, long time and what other people were saying about Twilight, kind of got to me. I would like to think I don’t get affected easily, but I started to realize there were tons of far greater books out there. The story I once loved, kind of felt silly and weird.

When the fourth film came, I barely even knew which date it would premiere. There, my interest for the Twilight-series was basically non-existent.

So now you know the story of how I used to love Twilight, until I didn’t anymore.

The thing is, I don’thave anything against Twilight. I have had some really great times with the books in the series, and my obsession never went too far. Which I’m thankful for.

I just moved on and found other things I were more interested in :).

I’m very excited about the Host movie, though ;)

Bye :D
