Day 10 – Favourite Classic Book

Hello fellow readers :)

This is actually really easy, mainly because I haven’t read that many classics. I would like to try more in the future, but for now, my favourite classic book is…

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice

For those who don’t know, Pride and Prejudice was written 1813 by a woman called Jane Austen. It’s mainly about the lives of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and her mother and father.  It tells you about elegant ballnights, the struggles of a 1800-girl, marriage, prejudice and of course, pride.  Oh, and by the way, there’s also a tall, dark and mysterious dude that’s called Mr Darcy.

I think this is a great novel with a lot to tell the world. The problems Elizabeth struggle with may not be that current everywhere today, but it still matters to a lot of people. Some places in the world, girls still don’t have the right to marry for love, or the prospects of a bright future even without a husband.

Jane Austen did something great. She became a successful author in a world ruled by men, and I think that’s something that should be celebrated, remembered and rewarded :).

I will soon have to pick a classic for my Swedish class, so I would love it if you gave me some tips :). Comment below if you know any good, must-read classic books :).

Bye, see you tomorrow :)
